Politico using the word "assassination" to describe the killing of OBL could be a slip of the pen, or could be a subtle way to open a new front of controversy . We'll see.
RELATED? INTEL DEAL WOULD GIVE CIA MORE COUNTERTERRORISM AGENTS -- House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) and the panel's top Democrat, Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, announced late Thursday that they have struck a deal on reauthorizing the programs of the nation's intelligence agencies. Most of the bill is classified, but one detail was made public: The bill would increase the number of counterterrorism jobs at the CIA. There's probably no better timing for the CIA, which did the groundwork for the bin Laden assassination. House leaders plan to put the measure on the floor, which will give lawmakers the opportunity to talk about the bin Laden killing and celebrate the success of the American intelligence apparatus. The Senate adopted a resolution recognizing the mission but the House did not. The intelligence authorization bill can serve that purpose. http://politi.co/kOns1U
