"INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMACY WILL NOT ALWAYS SUCCEED ... BUT COWBOY DIPLOMACY WILL ALMOST ALWAYS FAIL,"
These are the best summary I have seen of why "Bush diplomacy" is just "moronic". Kudos to Richardson.

Obama and Cheney related!
It appears that Barack Obama and Dick Cheney are relatives. But this brings something else. Was Obama saying a few weeks back, during his campaign speeches, that a vote for Hillary Clinton was a vote for the political status quo of Washington insiders? But it looks to me that a vote for Obama could be a vote for the status quo of the Cheney dynasty!!!........I am joking!!! I'll take Obama any day and night over Bush, Cheney and any of those crazy-right-wing, racist, fanatics, obtuse-minded so called "conservative" "republicans" that have hijacked the old Great Old Party.

Fred "Lazy" Thompson: "I'm going to do it the way I want to do it."
Fred "Lazy" Thompson defends his style of campaigning for the Republican nomination by saying that he will do it the way he wants to do it! And I say to Fred, way to go boy! Show them who's the boss! Don't let them pressure you. Learn from the mistakes of your buddy Senator Craig. Don't yield to pressure.

Bush veto of SCHIP stands
Shame on Bush and all the Republicans that voted against this important bill. Those are the same Republicans that have voted to spend $100 billion per year to make war in Iraq, but cannot spend $7 billion per year to provide health coverage to 10 million children. Actions speak so loud by themselves that no more words are needed.
We will remember this blatant abandonment of our children on November 4, 2008.

Brownback dropping from the Republican rat race
One out, a few more to go.
It is funny. They say they are conservatives, but guess which candidate is ahead in their nomination race...Giuliani!, the less conservative of all! And guess who is in second place in this party of good old christian boys (and girls)... Romney! the only one that is not a main street Christian (he's a Mormon). In the meantime, the ones with all the "credentials" are being rejected by their own and will be dropping one by one from the race. I say today 10/18/07 that the nominee will be Rudy Giuliani.

from The Hill: Privatized Part D Means $3.9 Billion in Taxes
For some reason this come to no surprise to me. Did you really think that George Bush would actually do something that would benefit the people over corporations? HA! Keep dreaming.

Privatized Part D Means $3.9 Billion in Taxes (Rep. Paul Hodes)
October 16th, 2007
In 2003, President Bush told Congress that privatizing the delivery of Medicare services would lead to better coverage and huge savings. But yesterday the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a study showing that instead of bringing down costs, allowing private insurance companies to handle Part D has added $3.9 billion to our annual tax bill. It turns out that these companies aren’t able to negotiate prices with the same power traditional Medicare has, and that the small savings they are able to affect are not being passed on to consumers.
Needlessly handing over billions of tax dollars to insurance companies is not what I call fiscal conservatism. It is clear that this program has turned into a windfall for private insurance companies at taxpayer expense, and it’s time to look for methods that are friendlier to taxpayers and consumers alike.

Believe it or not! Smart words from John McCain
"I believe the greatest strength of America is the lady who holds her lamp behind the golden door that says send me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses," "And I am grateful to live in a nation that has been enriched by people coming to our nation from around the world."
"I will do everything in my power to secure the borders, but I love this nation and I love the people who have come from around the world,"
One of the very few intelligent things McCain has said during his campaign.
